My name is John Moroney. I am the General Manager at Jones Services, and I’m here today to talk about why you should consider a heat pump. Heat pumps are more energy efficient, so they will save you money using them. They will lower the carbon emissions, protect the environment, and there’s tax incentives and rebate incentives that make the cost comparable to the cost that it would be to replace your current heating systems with the less efficient gas, oil, or propane solutions.
What is energy efficiency? How does it work? Mitsubishi mini-splits and the other manufacturers that we install, the technology is the equivalent of operating your car on highway driving versus city driving. So these gas furnaces and boilers, they get a call for heat and they start up, and then when the room gets comfortable, they stop and they turn off. And then when the temperature drops or rises, depending on the time of the year, and they have to start up again, that’s inefficient.
That costs more money than if they were operating continuously at a nice cruise control setting. The cost of oil and propane are high and they’re getting higher every day. A heat pump will help put things back under your control. The heat pump is electric, so there’s no burning of gas or oil in your home. It’s cleaner, smells better, safer for your family, and the carbon emissions in your home are reduced, protecting our environment from the burning of fossil fuels. And in the case of natural gas, there’s less need for fracking.
The cost of these systems can be offset by current utility rebates, municipality rebates, and now federal tax credits. These can help offset the cost of this more precision and higher quality equipment to make it more reasonable for you when we’re installing it.
How can you learn more about heat pumps and what rebates and tax credits are available? You can have us come to your home for a free evaluation. We’ll take measurements, size your equipment, and assess your needs, and we’ll be able to tell you about the potential energy savings that you’ll receive today, as well as the current rebates and tax credits that are always changing.
