The individual who came to the house was kind but either not knowledgeable or basically a salesman. Our home heating was not working and it’s very cold so we were desperate. They came out an hour later and told us we would either need to spend 2000 to replace a part and then probably need to pay another 7k in a year to replace a different part and encouraged me to invest 9k instead in an all new system. Identified that since it’s an older model they can’t even guarantee they could find the part and offered a discount if I could buy a replacement system this week. This was suspicious as my home inspector told me I should at least be able to get another 10 years out of my heating system and it’s only been 2. We asked a local handyman for a referral who came out the same day, unclogged a pipe for 90 bucks and the problem is resolved. He also identified that we should be able to get another 15 years out of our system. The part they were gonna have us spend 2000 on would not have even resolved the issue.
