I used Jones a few years ago, they came in and tried to upsell me on every single thing associated with my AC. I finally agreed to about $1500 worth of service just so I could get my compressor repaired. Coincidentally around the same time my mom called them, and they were more aggressive with her, an 81 year old lady. She called for an AC service, and she wouldn’t agree to anything they were trying to upsell her on. Finally the tech comes upstairs and asks her to come see what he’s spotted in the basement. The water pressure tank had a fresh pool of water beneath it. The tank was not old (4 years) and had not been leaking as of that morning. The tech is the likely suspect, he probably adjusted the pressure super high, stressed the bladder. It wound up costing $1200.
I know this company was recently sold to a private equity firm. In order to justify the purchase I’m sure each tech is told to sell as aggressively as possible. Or maybe the tech was fighting to keep his job, who knows. What I do know is that both visits to my house and my moms, had techs who were much more like salesmen than repairmen. It’s shameful they prey on old people like that. This company should be avoided.
