A customer reported problems when her power came back after a storm hit. She has three A/C units. Downstairs, the fan was working but not cooling. Her bedroom A/C was not working at all, and it was too warm in her son’s bedroom.
If you experience this type of problem when your power is restored after as storm, one possible reason is that the circuit breaker inside your air conditioning unit has tripped. The A/C may run but not be cooling. Trying turning your thermostat to the “off” position, then flip your air conditioner unit circuit breaker off and on. Wait 30 minutes so that the unit can sense power is being supplied but there is no demand for cool air. This will give the internal breaker time to reset. Then, turn your thermostat back to “cool” and see if the unit starts blowing cool air again. If it doesn’t, call Jones as soon as possible.
