A simple fix for an always-on air conditioner
If your indoor air handler won’t turn off unless you switch off the circuit breaker, you may have a problem with your thermostat. Make sure that is in the “auto” position and not in the “on” position. If it’s on “auto,” try turning it off and see if the indoor unit stops. If it doesn’t, then you’ll probably need to replace your thermostat. Most do-it-yourselfers can take care of this job on their own, but if you have problems call Jones.
There is more than likely nothing seriously wrong with your system, so don’t panic if you have this issue. If the thermostat is working properly, then you may have a fan relay that has become stuck. Still, this is a very minor problem that can easily be fixed. You shouldn’t try this on your own, however, because if you make a mistake then you could be looking at an expensive repair.
Give Jones a call today and we’ll be able to quickly take care of this issue.
